🐮 Mazda 3 Auto Wipers Not Working
Inoperative windsreen wiper system on auto setting.Part number: C513665G2 applicable to: Mazda 2 from 2010 model year DE, DH, DJ, DLMazda 3 from 2011 model
Firmly rotate the wiper blade to the right until it unlocks, then remove the blade. To prevent damage to the rear window, do not let the wiper arm fall on it. Pull down the blade rubber and slide it out of the blade holder. Remove the metal stiffeners from the blade rubber and install them in the new blade.
The auto-wiper control may not operate when the rain sensor temperature is about -10 °C (14 °F) or lower, or about 85 °C (185 °F) or higher. If the windshield is coated with water repellent, the rain sensor may not be able to sense the amount of rainfall correctly and the auto-wiper control may not operate properly.
Finally, unbolt the wiper motor from its mount and remove it. 4. Install the new motor. To install the new windshield wiper motor, begin by bolting it to the chassis and connecting the electrical harness. Before attaching the linkage, cycle the wipers once to ensure the motor stops at the bottom of its sweep.
5. Blocked hose. In rare cases, a dirty or pinched hose can be responsible for windscreen washer system malfunction on Mazda3. To diagnose, first open the hood and pull the end of the hose out of a windshield washer nozzle, and then turn on the washer system. You should see the fluid gushing out of the hose.
Our 2009 Mazda has the auto/variable intermittent wipers & these do not work like standard VIW. Turning the variable dial does not change the duration of the intermittent wipers like standard VIW. It changes the sensitivity of the rain sensor on the windshield. IMO, the variable function does not work that well.
Step 1: Locate the wiper control module. Generally, the wiper control module is located under the dash, but it can be found in other places as well. If you have a hard time locating the module, consult the factory repair manual for the location. Step 2: Disconnect the negative battery cable. Disconnect the negative battery cable using a wrench
Step 3: Close the hood and remove both wiper arms. Note: a special wiper arm puller makes this job easy but most arms will come off using the following technique – Open the wiper arm fixing cover, remove the nut, but not all the way. Now wiggle the arm loose by pressing and pulling on it firmly.
